‘Sinwar storm’ will destroy 'Israel': Hamas senior official
Senior Hamas official Khaled Mashaal honored martyr Yahya Sinwar, emphasizing that a "Sinwar storm" will destroy the Israeli entity.
A senior Hamas official stated that the resistance efforts led by the Palestinian Resistance movement's former Political Bureau Chief, Yahya Sinwar, would ultimately result in the regime's downfall.
Khaled Mashal, the group’s political leader outside of Palestine, made these comments during a memorial service in Istanbul, Turkiye, honoring Sinwar, after he was martyred during confrontations in the Gaza Strip.
“Sinwar kicked up a storm against the Zionist regime and afflicted it with a great earthquake that will lead to its destruction,” he said.
Mashaal further remarked that "the occupation sought to impose a bleak fate on Sinwar, yet God bestowed upon him a legacy of dignity; he lived with unwavering courage and died with honor."
He also said that the Palestinian Resistance would continue to stand against Israeli atrocities and would adopt any approach that promotes the rights of the Palestinian people and puts an end to the aggression.
On Friday, Islamic Resistance movement Hamas announced the martyrdom of its Political Bureau chief and commander of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Yahya Sinwar.
In a statement, Hamas paid tribute to Sinwar, describing him as one of the most honorable and courageous men who dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause and sacrificed his soul for the liberation of Palestine. "He believed in God, and God was truthful with him, choosing him as a martyr alongside his brothers who preceded him," Hamas' statement said.
Senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya affirmed that Sinwar stood firm on Gaza's soil until his very last breath. He highlighted how Sinwar's leadership fueled the spirit of resistance and resilience, and further emphasized that Sinwar had overcome the hardships of Israeli imprisonment and continued his contributions to the cause until he achieved the highest honor of martyrdom.
Resistance remains resilient
Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan stated that Sinwar's martyrdom has not diminished the Resistance, as evidenced by a recent operation conducted by the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, against Israeli forces in the city of Jabalia in northern Gaza.
The Resistance fighters executed an ambush that led to the death of a colonel in charge of the Israeli military’s 401st Armored Brigade, along with serious injuries to the deputy commander and an officer of the brigade's 52nd Battalion.
Hamdan praised Sinwar for his dedication to halting the aggression against Gaza while steadfastly upholding the rights of its people.
“The heroic personality of leader Sinwar pushed him to resist the occupation from the frontlines,” he said.
Hamdan also asserted that “our resistant people in northern Gaza will [continue to] foil the plan of the new Nazi generals from the occupation leaders.”
He was referring to a week-long campaign waged by the occupation against the northern regions, orchestrated to intensify the siege, cut off humanitarian aid to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, and label those who remain as combatants, allowing for targeting and elimination after designating the areas as a "closed military zone."
