1,200 Palestinians endure systematic torture in Israeli prisons
Since October, Israeli occupation forces have abducted thousands of Palestinians from Gaza, though the exact number of abductees remains unknown.
Hundreds of individuals abducted by "Israel" from the besieged Gaza Strip and detained at the al-Naqab prison are regularly subjected to torture, pointed out the Palestinian Detainees and ex-Detainees Commission.
The Commission revealed that nearly 1,200 Palestinians are experiencing systematic torture, abuse, and assault, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported on Tuesday.
Testimonies from previously abducted Palestinians revealed horrific incidents that have become normalized in Israeli occupation prisons, including severe violence, rape, electrocution, extreme hunger, humiliation, and various other forms of mistreatment.
The Commission noted that since October 2023, Israeli detention facilities have turned into sites for torture operations.
Many detainees are enduring torture, while numerous others rounded up from Gaza have gone missing, Wafa reported.
Since October, Israeli occupation forces have kidnapped thousands of Palestinians from Gaza, though the exact number of abductees remains unknown.
Gaza’s media office stated that the fate of many kidnapped Palestinians and the conditions of their detention remain unknown to their families and friends.
International and local human rights advocates have consistently sounded the alarm about the “unprecedented difficult conditions” faced by Palestinians held by the Israeli entity.
This comes as a video has been shared on social media showing a container that was delivered to Gaza by the Israeli occupation forces transporting the bodies of 88 Palestinian martyrs.
The container was delivered without any supervision from an official local or international entity. The Israeli occupation refused to disclose the names of the Palestinians, their ages, genders, or the areas where they were killed and abducted.
In turn, Gaza's Ministry of Health suspended the procedures of receiving the container until all necessary data and information about the martyrs were provided to enable their families to identify them.
This is the fifth time the Israeli occupation has delivered the bodies of martyrs this way. The ministry urged the International Committee of the Red Cross to carry out its duties per international protocols for the receipt and transfer of bodies.
