100 Palestinians killed by "Israel" in West Bank since Jan. 2022: UN
During the past 24 hours, four Palestinians, including minors, have been killed by Israeli bullets and systemic violence.
Since the beginning of 2022, the Israeli occupation has killed 100 Palestinians in the West Bank alone, according to the United Nations. On the other hand, only 16 Israelis have been reported dead since the beginning of the year across the entirety of occupied Palestine.
“Since the beginning of the year, at least 100 Palestinians, including children, have been killed, amid a significant increase in Israeli military operations in the occupied West Bank, including Area A,” said Tor Wencesland, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.
“The escalation of violence in the occupied West Bank is fueling a climate of fear, hatred and anger. It is necessary to reduce tensions immediately to open space for decisive initiatives aimed at creating a viable political horizon,” Wencesland warned.
“The fragility of the situation underscores the urgency of changing the dynamics on the ground, while addressing the underlying security and political issues that fuel the current instability,” the UN envoy added.
During the past 24 hours, four Palestinians, including minors, have been killed by Israeli bullets and systemic violence.
On Friday, Adel Ibrahim Daoud, who was 14 years old, lost his life to Israeli bullets to his head in Qalqilya in the West Bank. Another Palestinian teenager, Mahdi Ladadwa, 17 years old, was also killed in the confrontations which erupted in Ramallah.
On Saturday two Palestinians were martyred and 11 were wounded, three of whom are suffering from serious injuries, after being shot by the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin camp. According to the ministry, the first martyr is Mahmoud Al-Sous, 18, and the second martyr is Ahmad Mohammad Hussein Daraghmeh, 19, from Tubas.
