The World Food Programme announced that 137 trucks had entered the Gaza Strip to provide food supplies and support the operation of bakeries, according to a statement released on Tuesday amid a ceasefire after more than two years of war waged by "Israel".
The program also stated that "over 170,000 tons of food are ready for transport to the Gaza Strip, which is enough to feed two million people."
On Monday morning, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced that 173 aid trucks had entered the sector the previous day, Sunday, following the ceasefire agreement, while describing the quantities as "extremely limited."
The office further specified that the convoy consisted of three trucks loaded with cooking gas and six trucks carrying diesel fuel, which is allocated for operating bakeries, generators, and hospitals.
Throughout two years of a devastating war, the Israeli occupation has blocked gas and fuel from reaching Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, in addition to food supplies, leading to a man-made famine that claimed the lives of over 400 Palestinians.
Meanwhile, "Israel" has continued to violate the ceasefire in Gaza, killing several Palestinians across the Strip in drone strikes just three days after the ceasefire came into effect.
Our correspondents confirmed on October 14 that five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike that targeted them in the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Gaza also reported that an attack by Israeli occupation forces on the Halawa displacement camp, situated in Jabalia al-Balad to the north of the Strip, left several displaced civilians injured.
In the southern Gaza Strip, a Palestinian man was killed and another injured when a drone strike hit the al-Fakhari area east of Khan Younis, while Israeli drones also dropped bombs near the Aabasan Clinic and along Abu Salah Street in Aabasan al-Kabira.
