Electoral campaign in Algeria nears ending
The leaders of the majority of political parties state that the massive fraud witnessed in previous election cycles deprived Algerians of a legitimate and representative parliamentary election.
The electoral campaign continues in Algeria ahead of the pre-legislative date on June 12.
The intervention of the party leaders in the last 2 days before the election silence distinguished these elections, as they confirmed that the large-scale fraud that the previous rounds have witnessed deprived Algerians of electing a representative and legitimate parliament that reflects the majority of political currents and ideologies.
The warnings of the participating parties coincide with the assurances issued by the Algerian government, through its official spokesman, Ammar Belhimer, in addition to the institutions concerned with the legislative elections, such as the Constitutional Council and the Independent National Election Authority.
On Sunday, Chairman of the National Independent Authority for Elections, Mohamed Charfi, pledged to protect votes in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 12, during a press conference devoted to evaluating the second week of the campaign for women parliamentarians.
Charfi declared that "the era of the black box is over, and the launch of the new Algeria - which is the slogan of the presidential mandate of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune - will be during this parliament," noting that "the election authority is ready in all respects, including the legal and moral obligation to protect the votes of the voters."
Algerian President rejected the "minority" opposition of holding the elections and expressed Saturday his support for the "authentic" popular movement that contributes to building the state.
The legislative elections campaign in Algeria, scheduled for June 12, continues within an atmosphere of competition between about 1,500 lists.
