After the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported Thursday that 2 Palestinian Military Intelligence agents and a Palestinian Islamic Jihad member were martyred while responding to Israeli occupation forces fire in Jenin at dawn, the Palestinian resistance factions called for escalating against the Israeli occupation forces.
PIJ: Resistance Approach Is the Only Way Toward Victory
Palestinian Islamic Jihad spokesperson in the Gaza Strip Tareq Salmi said, "Jenin heads the list of glory, and it offers its heroic martyrs who rose at dawn while defending their land."
He said, "The heroic martyrs valiantly resisted the intrusion of the enemy, and the sons of the security services performed their natural role and what their people want from them to deter the occupation forces," stating that "the resistance approach will remain the only way through which we'll pass toward victory and freedom."
Hamas: The Palestinian People Cannot Succumb to the Occupation's Policies
Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum commented on the three martyrs, saying, "The high patriotic spirit of the security forces, which was manifested today in Jenin's heroic clashes with the Israeli enemy, means that the Palestinian people cannot surrender to the fait accompli or succumb to the policies of the occupation."
He added, "There is no force on the planet that could prevent it from performing its national duty of deterring the assaults and intrusions of enemy soldiers and Zionist settlers, whatever the price and sacrifices."
The movement mourned the martyrs of Jenin who rose during the clashes, stressing that the blood of the martyrs of Military Intelligence proves that the right way and the place where lives and sacrifices are made is the way to confrontation and challenge.
It also called on the sons of the security services in the West Bank to clash with the occupier to protect their people and avenge the blood of their resistance and to renounce security coordination with the enemy, saying, "We call for a comprehensive confrontation with the occupier and setting the ground on fire under the feet of the Zionists in all the occupied territories."
The Israeli occupation forces arrested Wednesday 17 Palestinians during a raid campaign in the West Bank, which included Hamas official Sheikh Nader Sawafita, in addition to two others in the city.
