47% Of Iranians will participate in elections
Jamal Araf, the head of the Iranian Ministry of Interior election headquarters, states that the ministry equipped the election centers according to the instructions of healthcare workers.
The head of the Iranian Ministry of Interior elections headquarters said in a press conference Monday that "according to online polls, 37-47% of Iranian people will vote in these elections, and there are 59,310,307 people eligible to vote."
Araf stated that "polling stations are equipped with everything the electoral process needs in accordance with the instructions of healthcare institutions, and those supervising the elections are vaccinated."
Regarding elections outside of Iran, Araf said, "there will be more than 450 ballot boxes distributed around the world," clarifying that "the presidential elections will be held in 101 countries around the world."
The head of the election office said that the polling stations would remain open until 12 am Saturday, June 19, with the possibility of extending that until 2 am on the same day.
He said that the ministry allocated 67,000 ballot boxes for the presidential elections and 75,000 for the municipal elections.
This comes after three presidential debates, and the third focused on files related to people's concerns.
The presidential elections will be held on June 18 for the people to choose their presidential candidate.
