Hamas: mediators asked resistance not to escalate on 'Flags March'
Palestinian factions state that the resistance is fully prepared to respond to the violations of the occupation and defend sanctities, in conjunction with the Palestinians awaiting the launch of the Flags March in Al-Quds.
Mohammad Hamadeh, the spokesman of Hamas, said that mediators asked the resistance not to escalate in light of the 'Flags March'.
Hamadeh told Al Mayadeen, "regardless of the mediator's request, the detonators are in the hands of the occupation," adding, "Whoever wants mediation should speak to the occupation, to ask it to stop its behavior in Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa."
Hamadeh said that the resistance is studying matters, is open to options, and evaluates matters according to the developments.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad said that they would "respond with full force to the provocations of settlers in the Holy City."
PIJ continued, "We will stand as an impenetrable dam in the face of anyone who tries to harm Al-Aqsa. The land is our land, Al-Quds is our Al-Quds, and the mosque is our mosque," stressing that "the occupation will not have a foothold in A-Quds, even if blood is spilled, as it is cheap for Al-Aqsa."
It also stated that Jerusalemites should stand united and entrench themselves all over the city to confront the settlers.
The movement urged the Palestinians in the West Bank and the 48-Palestinians to move towards Al-Quds and declare general mobilization.
Khaled Al-Batsh, member of the PIJ political bureau, said, "The cabinet of Bennett and Gantz insisting on holding the hate march dubbed as 'Flags March' in occupied Al-Quds is a new provocation of the feeling of more than one and a half billion Muslims and very cheap propaganda in the context of the right-wing led by Netanyahu and the far-right led by terrorist Naftali Bennett."
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine stated that the resistance is ready to respond to the attacks of the occupation and defend holy sites.
PFLP added that "the occupation's insistence on organizing the flag march are detonating factors for the entire region," also clarifying that the "silent international community should curb the occupation's aggression against our people."
Earlier today, Al-Mayadeen correspondent reported that extremist Yehudah Glick stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of the occupation police, noting that Glick's storming of Al-Aqsa comes amid great tension hours before the settlers' flags march in occupied Jerusalem.
Al Mayadeen correspondent also indicated that the occupation deployed 2,500 recruits in support of its forces in anticipation of the outbreak of an uprising in Damascus Gate.
