Raisi Eyes “People's Hopes”
Iranian President-elect Ibrahim Raisi said "I would endeavor to utilize all the skills available in the country to accomplish people's hopes."
Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raisi said that he would seek to use all the capabilities available in the country to realize the hopes of the people.
Raisi spoke when he received Major General Muhammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and representatives from the army, Revolutionary Guards, intelligence, security forces, and police.
After the meeting, Bagheri said that the armed forces are ready to support the new government, upgrade the Islamic Republic's capacities in numerous domains, and improve Iran's military and security capabilities.
Furthermore, Raisi also met with Eshaq Jahangiri, the President of the Republic's first aide, who stated that all ministries and government-affiliated institutions are prepared to pass overwork to the incoming administration.
During his first press briefing on Monday, Raeisi said that the economic situation would focus on his government's work, noting that Washington must cancel all unjust sanctions imposed on the Iranian people.
"The US must remove all sanctions [imposed on Iran] and must return [to the nuclear deal] and fulfill your obligations. Europeans must not be influenced by the US pressure and must act upon their commitments. This is what the Iranian nation wants from you," Iran's president-elect said.
Moreover, Raeisi stated that his administration would not engage in additional discussions with foreign powers to bring the US back into compliance with the 2015 nuclear deal.
For Tehran to reverse the nuclear actions it made in response to the US exit from the nuclear accord, Raeisi stressed that the sanctions must be lifted in a verifiable manner.
He also noted that "relations with neighboring countries is particularly significant for us. Therefore, our priority will be to establish ties with neighbors."
Besides, Iran officially announces on Saturday the victory of Ebrahim Raisi in the presidential elections and reports a 48.8 percent turnout.
