He added that the party has achieved “a national reinvigoration”, taking tens of millions out of poverty, and “transforming the scene of global development.”

Xinping also delved deep into the recesses of history in this speech, reminding citizens what their country has witnessed in the Opium Wars, as well as Western and Japanese colonialism, then moving on to praise the CPC’s accomplishments in improving living standards and restoring national pride.”

Late President Mao Zedong founded the CPC in the summer of 1921 with a group of Marxist Leninist intellectuals in Shanghai. The CPC would, later on, grow to become one of the world’s strongest political organizations.

The CPC’s members number at around 95 million now, and have gone through more than a century of war, famine, and turbulences, and have recently achieved an economic upheaval that has turned China into a superpower challenging Western competition, led by the US.
