In a speech marking the centennial anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he also said that the renaissance witnessed by his country is a “historic march there is no going back from”.
He added that the party has achieved “a national reinvigoration”, taking tens of millions out of poverty, and “transforming the scene of global development.”

Late President Mao Zedong founded the CPC in the summer of 1921 with a group of Marxist Leninist intellectuals in Shanghai. The CPC would, later on, grow to become one of the world’s strongest political organizations.
The CPC’s members number at around 95 million now, and have gone through more than a century of war, famine, and turbulences, and have recently achieved an economic upheaval that has turned China into a superpower challenging Western competition, led by the US.
