Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that Palestine is the icon of the Islamic world solidarity, stressing that the effective and continuous defense of the oppressed Palestinian people is a guarantee of regional security stability.

This came during a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday, during which Raisi stressed maintaining the close relations between the peoples of the two countries and advocating their different capabilities as a suitable ground for advancing cooperation in various fields.

Raisi said that the success of the Pakistani government and its people is a success of the Iranian government and its people, adding that "mutual trust and concerted efforts" among the countries of the region are two main pillars for the security and stability of relations with the surrounding.

The President-elect explained that "in economic diplomacy, the new government views all the economic proficiency of its neighbors as valuable opportunities for cooperation, and therefore no economic capabilities are neglected."

He also pointed out that achieving "sustainable security" can only be achieved through contribution between the region’s countries, pointing out that "experience has proven that foreigners work under the pretext of creating security, yet they sow seeds of insecurity and perpetuate destabilization."

He added that "Palestine is a symbol of the Islamic world solidarity, and the effective and continuous defense of the oppressed Palestinian people is a guarantee of stability and regional security."

He also expressed his concerns about the situation in Afghanistan, saying that "the security of Afghanistan is important to Iran and that it must be maintained by the Afghan people only."

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan extended his congratulations to Raisi for his election by the Iranian people, expressing his hope to meet the elected Iranian President soon, adding, "I have examined your biography and your position as a distinguished scholar."

Referring to the common issues between the two countries, Imran Khan said, "we are concerned about the situation in Afghanistan and the country's involvement in a long war", explaining that "the political option is the best option for Afghanistan, yet achieving this is difficult under the current situation."

He expressed his hope to meet the Iranian President-elect in the near future to discuss various issues, including available opportunities and common challenges.
