Kataib Hezbollah: Targeting Diplomatic Missions Unacceptable, Resistance Ongoing
Iraq's Kataib Hezbollah Security Official denied the brigades' involvement in the targeting of diplomatic missions, and confirms that the resistance will continue until the last occupation soldier withdraws.
The Kataib Hezbollah of Iraq (Hezbollah Brigades) denounced any attacks on diplomatic missions in the country, affirming that they still abide by their decision not to shell "the camp of the American Embassy of evil," and to merely target the "occupation's forces" and its military bases.
The statement was published by the brigades' security official, Abou Ali Al-Askari, who stressed that their decision to target American forces is "purely an Iraqi decision," one that "will only stop with the retreat of the occupation's last soldier."
Al-Askari called on the "brothers in the Iraqi Resistance to uphold the rules of engagement, and not to rush through the stages of the battle," stressing that the retaliation to any attack on the Resistance will be severe.
The statement comes after the Green Zone was targeted twice in a span of two days. The Green Zone hosts a number of diplomatic missions, including the US Embassy in Iraq. The Embassy's special defenses downed a drone on Wednesday, and intercepted two rockets on Thursday morning.
Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Leader, Qays al-Khazali had denied the Resistance's involvement with the targeting of the American Embassy in Baghdad's Green Zone, assuring that the embassy is not within their response equation.
