The Representative of the Afghan "Taliban" Movement in Qatar, Mohammad Naeem, said that the Movement wants good relations with all countries, including the US.

Naeem told Al Mayadeen Net, "Our relations are good with neighboring countries, and we are keen on developing them."

Naeem's statement comes as clashes rage across Afghanistan between the "Taliban" and the Afghan army, as the former controls vast areas of the border throughout the country, despite UN warnings of violence escalation and its impact on the increase in the number of Afghan immigrants.

The outbreak of violence in Afghanistan coincided with the US decision to withdraw its forces from the Asian country, after President Joe Biden set September 11 as the date for ending the occupation.

The Commander of US forces in Afghanistan warned of a civil war after the withdrawal, as a result of the "unexpected" expansion of "Taliban forces.

All Foreign Military Presence Is An Occupation

Regarding Taliban’s approach to dealing with "al-Qaeda" and "ISIS", as well as the growing regional fears of the return of these two organizations, along with the expansion of the Movement's control, Naeem explained that these two organizations "do not have a presence in Afghanistan," and added, "Our Islamic groups are capable of eradicating all security concerns."

Regarding the Taliban's relations with Washington, Naeem said: "We want good relations with all countries, including the US. Our diplomatic relations with all nations are built on religious and national interests,” before adding, “We do not want to interfere in the affairs of others, just as we do not allow others to interfere in our affairs."

Apropos Turkey's announcement to keep its military forces to protect Kabul Airport, Naeem stressed, "The presence of foreign forces under any excuse is rejected by our people. All foreign military presence is an occupation and an extension of it, and any foreign military and security presence will be treated as such."

Regarding the Movement's relationship with China, the Representative of the "Taliban" said, "China is a neighboring country, and we seek a positive relationship with all countries, whether regional or not." Naeem concluded by saying, “No party will be allowed to use the Afghan soil to disrupt the security and interests of any country."
