WHO Expected to Adopt "Sputnik V" in Fall
CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, expects the adoption of the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" by the World Health Organization in the fall.
The CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev, announced today, Tuesday, via the “India Today” Channel, that the Fund expects the WHO (World Health Organization) to adopt the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” against the Coronavirus in the fall.
He also indicated that this could happen in September or October, adding that the exact timing depends on the Organization itself.
“Sputnik V” is the first registered vaccine in the world, based on studies of the human adenovirus platform. It was adopted in 65 countries around the world, at a time where Russia announced that its effectiveness exceeds 97 percent.
The Head of the Laboratory of Bionanotechnology and Virology of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Novosibirsk at the Russian Novosibirsk University, Sergey Netesov, had confirmed that the "Sputnik V" protects vaccinators from the Coronavirus Delta variant.
