Hariri Presents Cabinet Proposal to President Aoun
After his trip to Egypt, Lebanese PM-Designate Saad Hariri submits a new cabinet proposal of 24 specialist ministers to President Aoun.
The Lebanese Prime Minister-Designate Saad Hariri stated, today, that he "presented to President Michel Aoun a cabinet proposal of 24 specialist ministers, in line with the initiatives of France and the Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri."

Hariri stated, "I think that the cabinet’s formation that I presented is supposed to save the country and initiate the phase of stopping the collapse."

"I hope President Aoun will provide an answer, tomorrow, Thursday, so that we can proceed accordingly, and for me, this is the moment of truth," Hariri added.
On its part, the Lebanese Presidency declared that "President Aoun informed the Prime Minister-Designate that the cabinet’s formation proposal with the new minister’s names and new distribution of portfolios will be discussed..."

Moreover, the Lebanese Presidency said that "Aoun received from the Prime Minister-Designate Saad Hariri a cabinet proposal different from what was previously agreed on, as it includes new minister’s names and a new distribution of portfolios and sects, and Prime Minister Hariri asked President Aoun to submit an answer regarding the proposal by tomorrow, Thursday."

Earlier today, the Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi received Hariri, in the presence of Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Head of the General Intelligence Directorate Abbas Kamel.
The Egyptian Presidential Spokesman, Bassam Rady, explained that "during the meeting, they discussed the Lebanese political situation and the means to enhance cooperation between the two countries, as well as the ongoing regional developments."
The EU Foreign Ministers had agreed to push forward with the implementation of sanctions against Lebanese politicians, after 11 months of a crisis that has left Lebanon in a state of collapse.
EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell stated that during their meeting in Brussels, the EU Foreign Ministers "reached a political understanding that a sanctions regime against those who are responsible for the situation should be established," adding that, “I can say that the objective is to complete this by the end of the month."
