Russian Authorities Thwart a Terrorist Attack In Moscow
The Russian Federal Security Service declared that it thwarted a planned terrorist attack in crowded places in Moscow, saying that the terrorist was instructed by terrorist groups located in Syria.

Russian authorities thwarted a terrorist plan targeting crowded areas of its capital Moscow
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported that a planned terrorist attack in crowded places in Moscow had been thwarted.
The report stated that "the FSB has prevented a terror attack on the territory of Moscow. FSB operatives have detained a Russian national, who plotted to commit a terror attack in July by detonating an improvised explosive in a crowded area."
The FSB indicated that the terrorist received his instructions from terrorist organizations located in Syria.
The Service found components of an explosive device in the terrorist’s hideout, while his communications means contained guidelines on the production of said device as well as correspondences with the terrorist organizations.
The FSB pointed out that a lawsuit has been filed against the detainee while investigations are still ongoing, without disclosing the name of the accused.
Back in March 2021, the FSB detained members of an extremist group in Rotsov who were planning acts of sabotage against state authority institutions.
Along with the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Rostov, the FSB "repressed the activities of an organized extremist group intending to carry out so-called direct actions, through writing offensive slogans on the premises of official buildings and the Regional Security Agency, with the use of incendiary materials."
In April 2020, the FSB announced that it had thwarted terrorist attacks in the city of Yekaterinburg, east of the Russian capital.
The National Anti-Terrorism Committee said in a statement, that the operation led to the killing of three gunmen involved in terrorist activities in the city.
