Details revealed that at 8:00 a.m. GMT, the sound of a rocket was heard across the Green Zone by security guards, including the Presidential Palace and several embassies, including the US Embassy.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Mirwais Stanekzai said: "Afghanistan's enemies launched missile attacks today in various parts of the city of Kabul."
“All the missiles (of the capital) were fired in three separate parts. No injuries were reported based on our initial information. Our team is investigating,” he added.

Minutes after the attack, Ghani began delivering his speech in the presence of a number of senior officials. "The Taliban has no will for peace and reconciliation," he said.
He pointed out that "everyone who believed that the Taliban had changed was wrong, and we also made a mistake in releasing thousands of Taliban prisoners in order to encourage them for a political solution."
