The Palestinian Prisoner Muhamad al-Zughair suspends his hunger strike and triumphs over the Israeli intransigence, following a decision by the Israeli military court to end his administrative detention.

Prisoner al-Zughair claims victory over Israeli intransigence
The Israeli occupation court in Ofer issued a substantive ruling to end Muhamad al-Zughair's administrative detention on December 13, 2021; 11 days after his hunger strike.
Al-Zughair has gone on an open hunger strike for the second time in 15 months in rejection of his administrative detention.
During this period, his lawyer Riham Nasra failed to determine the end date of her client's arrest, due to the occupation's intransigence and the Supreme Court's rejection of many requests for his release.
"The Israeli occupation intelligence and the prison administration have isolated Muhamad al-Zughair, preventing lawyers from visiting him to check on his health situation. However, with the help of the prisoner's lawyer and in collaboration with the campaign for his release, representatives from the Naqab desert prison were able to attain a key decision to reduce his detention time and consequently end his administrative detention," said Engineer Issa Amr, coordinator of the campaign for the release of activist al-Zughair.
He added, "Mrs. Nasra insisted on obtaining official identity documents from the occupation court and the prosecutor's office in order to avoid the occupation's non-commitment once again, considering that the occupation violated the previous agreement with the representatives of the Naqab desert prison."
Muhamad al-Zughair, a 34-year-old activist from Al-Khalil, is a human rights defender who has spent 52 months in occupation prisons. He is married and has three children.
Al-Zughair is also one of the leaders of the "Youth Against Settlements" society in Al-Khalil and its spokesman, and one of the founders of the labor movement in Al-Khalil.
