Afghan President's Advisor on Security and Political Affairs, Muhammad Mohaqiq, said, in an interview for Al Mayadeen, that the US has admitted its defeat.
Mohaqiq explained that the US withdrawal from Afghanistan is in line with the US interests and reflects the priorities of the Democratic Party and Biden's administration alike. He also pointed out that the abrupt US exit from Afghanistan was not approved by the US military leaders.

Furthermore, Mohaqiq said that the "Taliban" Movement had entered certain areas with no confrontations because the Afghan forces needed to gather and enhance their defense strategy. He noted that popular forces are now fighting alongside the state, the army, and the police, which led to the expansion of the war.
According to Mohaqiq, "we cannot talk about fear of an internal war when one is already underway," pointing out that "the war will worsen and the Afghan government will face new threats."
He pointed out that the 10-month Doha negotiations failed to reach an outcome, and that whoever thought that these negotations will yield fruitful results and lead to domestic peace is mistaken.
The Afghan President's Advisor highlighted that it will take time for the "Taliban" to realize that pursuing a military strategy will not result in the intended outcomes, and that as long as the "Taliban" isn't convinced that peace can be achieved without war, discussions will fail.

Mohaqiq said that the "Taliban" movement wants to form a "Taliban Government" and restore the regime that stood 20 years ago. He emphasized, "we acknowledge that the regime is an Islamic one, but our understanding of Islam is different."
The Afghan Advisor stressed that Afghanistan will not give up the Republic regime, while the "Taliban" does not recognize the elections or the Republic, pointing out that "Afghanistan approves of restarting the negotiations if the Taliban sees that it has reached a dead end."

"Women’s Rights, Human Rights, Children’s Rights, and Minority Rights all fall under the constitution and won’t be dropped," Mohaqiq explained.
Furthermore, he pointed out that "some states work to appease their friends even if they resort to contradicting methods. The "Taliban" is present in more than one state with invitations coming through, and all countries that were previosly affected seek to reach an agreement with the movement."
He stated that the "Taliban" is still the same since 20 years ago, believing that the political agreement with the Movement had harmed Afghanistan and had brought the "Taliban" closer than ever to becoming an Entity.
He emphasized that "once the Taliban violates its treaty with the US, US fighter jets will be dispatched to assist Afghanistan."
According to Mohaqiq, Afghanistan's relations with the neighboring countries such as Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and others are "good", pointing out that there are some unresolved issues with Pakistan regarding terrorist movements."
