Hezbollah Demands Revealing Truth About Beirut Blast
On the first anniversary of the August 4th Beirut blast, Hezbollah demands the judicial authorities to deal with the issue away from favoritism.
On the first anniversary of the Beirut blast, Hezbollah stresses the need for Lebanese solidarity and unity to overcome the painful ordeal.
Hezbollah issued a statement saying that it is necessary to reach the whole truth, away from political exploitation.
The Lebanese party called on the judicial authorities to deal with this issue in a serious manner without favoritism. They also urged the authorities to transparently reveal the facts before the Lebanese public opinion.
Hezbollah also called for putting an end to internal manipulation, external exploitation, and accusations.
Earlier today, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said, "The souls of the martyrs will not return to their creators well-pleased [with Him] and well-pleasing [to Him], and the national wound caused by the explosion will not be healed until the truth is revealed."
A few days ago, Lebanese President Michel Aoun announced his willingness to testify in the Beirut blast case if the judicial investigator wants him to.
According to the Lebanese presidency on Twitter, Aoun informed public prosecutor Judge Ghassan Oweidat of this, stressing that "No one is above justice, no matter how high their rank."
The Beirut Blast took place in the Beirut port on August 4, 2020. The explosion led to 6,500 people wounded and over 200 martyred, as well as the destruction of buildings and residential areas in the vicinity of the port.
