UNICEF: 11.3 million Yemeni Children in Need of Humanitarian Assistance
The report said that "Yemen remains the world’s worst humanitarian crisis".
A UNICEF report released on Friday stated that 11.3 million children in Yemen are "in need of humanitarian assistance," with the war still ongoing for the seventh consecutive year in the impoverished country.
The report said that "Yemen remains the world’s worst humanitarian crisis with 20.7 million people – 71 percent of the total population – in need of humanitarian assistance."
The organization had stated earlier that 8.1 million Yemeni children are in need of emergency educational assistance due to the military conflict.
UNICEF warned in July that the education of more than 6 million children in Yemen is at stake, with more than 2 million children currently completely deprived of education.
