Afghan media reported Sunday that multiple explosions were heard throughout Kabul amid an ongoing state of uncertainty after Taliban militants entered the capital city. This comes after President Ghani resigns and flees the country.

1TV Afghanistan reported that "several explosions were heard in Kabul," while a Makrorian neighborhood resident said they heard two 'not very big' explosions.

Eyewitnesses in the city asserted that it is generally calm, but the police checkpoints are vacant after the security forces were dissolved.

Earlier today, the Taliban had arrived at the Presidential Palace in Kabul to conduct negotiations, and Afghan Interior Minister Abdul Sattar Mirzakwal said that there would be a "peaceful transition of power."
