At least 22 Palestinians were killed as "Israel" intensifies its assault on Gaza amid a humanitarian catastrophe and additional evacuations in northern Gaza.

The Israeli military continues its devastating war on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 22 people in airstrikes across multiple areas since Saturday dawn, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported.

Our correspondent confirmed the martyrdom of two people and the injury of others by occupation gunfire as they attempted to reach the aid center of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, west of Rafah, in the southern part of the enclave.

Khan Younis

One person was killed and others were wounded when Israeli forces shelled the al-Sikka area in central Khan Younis, southern Gaza, while Israeli artillery and airstrikes targeted the eastern districts of the city.

As Israeli forces demolished residential buildings in the town of al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, the town's mayor stated that the entire municipality had been completely devastated by the ongoing assault, which has destroyed every aspect of daily life, with no area left untouched by the widespread destruction.

Central Gaza

One person was killed and others were wounded when Israeli forces shelled a group of people near the Ansar Mosque in Deir al-Balah. Meanwhile, artillery fire targeted the area surrounding the destroyed "Prisoners' Towers" northwest of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a displacement tent in the al-Shanti area of Gaza City. Additional casualties were reported during the intense bombardment of the al-Shujaiya neighborhood, where Israeli forces blocked medical teams from evacuating the wounded.

IOF order new evacuations in northern Gaza

Several people were wounded when Israeli warplanes struck a home in the al-Saftawi area north of Gaza City, as the Israeli military issued new evacuation orders for Gaza City and much of northern Gaza, specifically the al-Zaytun, al-Tuffah, and Jabalia al-Balad neighborhoods, forcing residents to flee under ongoing bombardment.

According to the latest figures released by Gaza's Health Ministry, the Israeli offensive has now killed 54,381 Palestinians and wounded 124,054 others since October 7, 2023.

The toll increased as the Gaza Strip hospitals received 60 martyrs (including one recovered martyr) and 284 injuries in 24 hours, knowing that these statistics exclude hospitals in the North Gaza Governorate due to the difficulty of accessing them.

Since March 18, 2025, 4,117 Palestinians were killed and 12,013 others were injured.

A number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, unable to be reached by ambulances and civil defense teams.

These developments come against the backdrop of a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, brought on by "Israel" and its brutal blockade, only recently allowing aid through the US-backed aid plan, which failed miserably.

Children, adults in Gaza dying from hunger, famine

Hanan Balkhy, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, warned that children and adults in Gaza are dying from hunger and famine, a direct result of "Israel’s" crippling blockade.

Famine has reached catastrophic levels, according to Balkhy, with widespread malnutrition and a desperate shortage of food and medicine.

Furthermore, she highlighted the dire state of public health in Gaza: poor sanitation, collapsed healthcare infrastructure, and the rapid spread of diseases. Over 42% of essential medicines and vaccines are unavailable and around 64% of medical equipment is no longer functional.

Amid the dire situation, she praised the resilience of Gaza’s healthcare workers, who continue to operate under impossible conditions.

US-Israeli Gaza aid plan implodes

Christopher Lockyear, Secretary-General of Médecins Sans Frontières, sharply criticized the US-Israeli Gaza Humanitarian Organization, calling its aid operation a "catastrophic failure" and accusing it of facilitating forced displacement under a false humanitarian pretense.

Lockyear condemned the Rafah aid drop chaos that injured dozens, stating Palestinians deprived of essentials for three months are being corralled to wait for inadequate aid treatment, mirroring "Israel's" 19-month inhumane policies.

American security personnel managing aid distribution for the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation reportedly assaulted Palestinians waiting in line for food packages on Thursday, as the US-backed program faces mounting criticism over its violent and inefficient operations.

Tuesday's US-coordinated aid distribution in Rafah under the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation system, designed to displace Palestinians further south, plunged into violent disorder. Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the site collapsed due to overcrowding, disorganization, and live fire by Israeli Occupation helicopters.

UNRWA's chief slammed "Israel's" Gaza aid mechanism as a mismanaged system squandering resources while obscuring "Israel's" systematic strangulation of 2.3 million Palestinians now facing engineered starvation.
