Former Commander of Gilboa Prison: We Failed Miserably
Israeli media quoted the former commander of Gilboa prison as saying that the escape of the 6 Palestinian prisoners was shameful and the most dangerous accident that could happen.
Israeli media reported the former commander of Gilboa prison's frustration with the escape of the 6 Palestinian prisoners.
In an interview with Israeli newspaper Yediot Aharonot, the former commander described the incident as shameful and as the most serious accident that could happen, while admitting a miserable fail. The commander revealed this is not the first escape, and that there have always been such attempts, pointing out that Gilboa Prison is a solid facility where the most dangerous prisoners to Israel are held.
In the same context, Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett made an assessment session with the participation of ministerial and senior security officials.
The Israeli media confirmed that the investigations and the pursuit operations reached a dead end.
This comes after the media confirmed that 6 Palestinian prisoners were freed from Gilboa prison near the occupied city of Bisan on Monday. It is believed that the freed prisoners dug a tunnel to escape and were reported missing around 4 a.m.
It is worth mentioning that Gilboa prison is considered one of the highest security prisons of the Israeli occupation.
