According to a joint poll conducted by ABC News and The Washington Post, the American public has been increasingly concerned over US support for Ukraine.

Currently, 41% believe that the United States is doing too much to support Ukraine, marking an increase from 33% in February and 14% in April 2022.

Meanwhile, 50% believe that the United States United States is doing the right amount or too little, representing a decline from 60% seven months ago and 73% during the early stages of the war.

This comes after President Zelenksy met with President Biden last week to discuss Congress support for a new $24 billion aid package.

The report by ABC News points out that this sentiment crosses party lines.

The sentiment has increased by 8% among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, and by 7% among Republicans and GOP-leaning independents.

The report points out, however, that this Ukraine-aid-critical sentiment has increased at a higher rate among conservatives compared to liberals and moderates.

Criticism regarding the extent of assistance provided is significantly more pronounced among individuals who express unfavorable views of the economy or claim to have experienced deteriorating financial circumstances during President Biden's tenure. These groups exhibit a pronounced conservative and Republican skew.

Moreover, this critique is 12 points more prevalent among men compared to women and 10 points higher among individuals without a four-year college degree in contrast to those with college diplomas.

During Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the White House earlier this week, US President Joe Biden promised the Ukrainian President to deliver a number of long-range missiles, Politico reported citing two anonymous US officials.

The report adds that the United States will be delivering Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) to Ukraine in the upcoming weeks. The Ukrainians have long requested the ATACMS as they have a range of 70 to 300 km, which would be useful to strike deep within Russian lines.
