The attack comes a few days after Russia acknowledged the independence of the Kherson Region, according to a decree issued by Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a referendum on the region's accession to the Russian Federation.
In the Kherson region, 87.05% of voters supported reunification with Russia, according to the head of the regional election commission, Marina Zakharova.
