6K dead children later, Scholz says 'Israel' has right to self-defense
Despite Germany's controversial recent history, it is evident that the country has not fully overcome issues of racism.
On Friday, during a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that "Israel's" purported right to self-defence must "not be called into question."
"There is a need to make Israel's self-defence possible and not to call it into question," Scholz said.
His counterpart, Erdogan, has previously voiced very strong criticism of "Israel" by labeling it a terrorist state.
Despite voicing a pro-Palestine stance, Erdogan remains aligned with the West as Turkey is a NATO member.
Five reasons why Scholz is wrong
1. The disproportionate use of force
The first reason why Scholz is wrong is owed to the disproportionate use of force in this conflict.
Since the start of the war, "Israel" has imparted that it aims to dismantle the resistance and its operations but so far it has only inflicted massive civilian losses in the Strip.
The regime has been indiscriminately bombing the Strip, wiping families out of registries, and razing residential neighborhoods to the ground.
2. Plans to occupy the Strip
Secondly, the Israeli regime has previously voiced its plan to occupy the Gaza Strip and ethnically cleanse it.
Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed ABC News that the war would persist until "Israel" had regained what he described as "overall security" control over Gaza.
"Israel will, for an indefinite period, have the overall security responsibility," he said.
3. Restriction of food, water and fuel
The third reason is the restriction of food, water, and fuel to the Strip, which has so far caused several hospitals to shut down and has exposed many civilians to the risk of dehydration and starvation.
In a statement on Thursday, the executive director of the WFP, Cindy McCain warned that the people of Gaza are face to face with starvation as water and food are "practically non-existent."
She added that with winter approaching, overcrowded and unsafe shelters, coupled with a lack of clean water, pose an immediate threat to civilians.
4. Violations of International Law
"Israel" has breached countless international humanitarian laws by employing some of its most deadly weapons to conduct its genocide.
Not only has "Israel" targeted UN school shelters, but it has also targeted hospitals, including the bombing of Al-Ahli Hospital on October 17, which claimed the lives of at least 500 civilians.
5. 'Israel' is an aggressor
"Israel" is a de facto aggressor in this conflict because it was originally conceived to harbor the interests of Western imperialism in the Middle East.
It is an occupying power that is acknowledged by the self-proclaimed democracies of the West and is thus above international conventions.
Nevertheless, the backing of "Israel" by the West has helped expose the fragility of Western values and principles.
Despite Germany's controversial recent history, it is evident that the country has not fully overcome issues of racism.
