6 killed in Syria: ISIS shells Homs, Al-Nusra drone attack on Latakia
The attacks led in total to the death of 6 Syrian soldiers in Homs, while two others were injured in Latakia.
Six Syrian soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack carried out by ISIS terrorists on Syrian army points in the eastern countryside of Homs governorate, in the west of the country.
A field source told Sputnik that, "Six officers belonging to the 18th Tank Division, all with the rank of lieutenant, were killed in an attack by ISIS terrorists on army points in the Al-Sukhnah-Tuwaynan axis at dawn today."
The source spoke about the occurrence of clashes between the Syrian army and the terrorists, pointing out that "the area was safe and had not witnessed any attacks before."

Also today, Maj. Gen. Oleg Yegorov, Russian Deputy of the Center for Reconciliation in Syria, said that two Syrian soldiers were injured due to a terrorist attack using drones in Latakia province in Syria.
"Two Syrian servicemen were wounded in Latakia province as a result of a drone strike launched by terrorists," Yegorov said in a briefing, adding, on another note, that there were no recorded breaches to the ceasefire agreement by Kurdish militants in northeastern Syria.
Within the past 24 hours, the Al-Nusra front terrorist group launched four shellings from the Idlib de-escalation zone, three of which were recorded to have targeted Latakia, and one Idlib.
Earlier on Saturday, Syrian news agency SANA said that terrorist attacks in Deir Ezzor killed 10 oil field workers, one day after US-backed Syrian forces announced that they would be launching a "counter-terrorism" operation.

SANA stated that the workers were killed in a "terrorist attack that targeted three buses transporting" them from the Al-Taim oil field.
Bassam Tohme, the minister of oil and mineral resources, explained that the Syrian people are experiencing an oil crisis and that the American occupation, through its mercenaries and terrorist organizations, wants to cut off the supply of oil that meets the country's basic needs. As a result, they carried out this egregious attack on the shifts of workers at the al-Taim field at the al-Furat Company.
It's noteworthy that the Idlib de-escalation zone, which includes the Idlib governorate and parts of the Aleppo, Hama, and Lattakia governorates, is the last stronghold of Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham militants, whose backbone is Al-Nusra Front, as well as Turkey-backed militants.
