7 arrested in Germany for financing $71,552 for IS terrorist activity
Seven arrested in Germany are believed to be a part of an international network soliciting financial donations for ISIS in Syria through social media, including Telegram, to transfer them to the group or intermediaries.
Seven suspected supporters of the ISIS terrorist group were arrested in Germany, as a result of an investigation into terrorist financing, according to prosecutors on Wednesday.
This was done simultaneously as authorities carried out 19 raids in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, and one property in the Netherlands, per the federal prosecutor's office.
Those arrested are believed to be working for an international network soliciting financial donations for ISIS in Syria through social media platforms, including Telegram, to transfer them to the group or its pertaining intermediaries.

A minimum of 65,000 euros ($71,552.00) have been transferred this way, per prosecutors, who added that the funds were applied to support imprisoned ISIS members in Syria, and in some cases give way for them to escape from prison camps.
The seven detainees are scheduled to appear on Wednesday and Thursday before a magistrate to decide if they will remain in pre-trial detention.
