Araghchi: Iran adopted a constructive approach in its engagement to ensure the European Union and the E3 fully honored their commitments and lifted all sanctions.
Araghchi: After a year of Iran’s full compliance with the agreement, it began implementing gradual, proportionate, and reversible compensatory steps in accordance with its recognized rights under the deal.
Araghchi: Iran demonstrated the utmost restraint in the face of repeated and fundamental violations and made extensive efforts to restore balance and preserve the agreement.
In his letter, Araghchi stated: The E3 failed to fulfill their obligations and instead imposed additional illegal sanctions on Iranian individuals and institutions.
Araghchi: These coercive measures constituted a grave violation of international law and the UN Charter, causing severe disruption in the implementation of the agreement.
Araghchi: Washington initially refrained from fulfilling its commitments, then withdrew from the agreement, reimposed its illegal and unilateral sanctions, and even expanded them.
Araghchi: UN Security Council Resolution 2231 has expired and fully ceased to be in effect as of today, in accordance with its explicit provisions.

79% of Americans think US should pursue negotiations with Iran

A poll conducted by Eurasia Group Foundation reveals controversial opinions in American society.

According to the Eurasia Group Foundation, over 75% of Americans think the United States should pursue negotiations to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon, as per survey results. Iran does not have nuclear weapons and has repeatedly stressed that it does not plan to develop them in the future. 

The survey took the answers of 2,002 US adults into account between September 2 and September 8; they were asked about US foreign policy and the US' international role.

According to survey results, 78.8% of respondents think Washington should negotiate to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons in the future.

Around 88% of Democrat supporters were in favor of such negotiations, whereas 71.8% of Republicans were also in favor, in addition to 76.9% of independents.

Regarding the JCPOA, 62.6% of the respondents said that the US should revive nuclear negotiations. 

"More than 70% of Republicans believe the U.S. should continue to pursue nuclear negotiations with Iran, suggesting elected leaders and candidates who vocally criticize the negotiations might be out of step with many of their voters," said the report.

The survey also addressed opinions regarding the war in Ukraine and found that 39.8% of respondents think that the US responded well to the war, while 24.9% believe the US did not. About 35.3% are neutral.

Almost 78% believe Finland and Sweden accessing NATO would benefit the US, while 23.3% don't believe it would. 

69% responded negatively when asked if the United States should keep selling weapons to Saudi Arabia and 31% positively.

Regarding Washington's selling arms to "Israel", 52.6% had a positive response regarding the continuation of selling arms, whereas 47.4% responded negatively.
