The French Foreign Minister contacts his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian to congratulate him on his new position as Foreign Minister and to urge a swift return to nuclear talks.
According to Al Mayadeen correspondent, France's Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has called for a fast resumption of nuclear talks, after contacting his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian to congratulate him on his new position as Iranian Foreign Minister.
Iranian negotiators are urgently urged to return to the table in a productive way as soon as possible, according to a spokeswoman for the French Foreign Ministry, we are willing to do so, but the time period will not be open indefinitely."
In the same context, the German Foreign Ministry stated that Germany urges Iran to resume nuclear negotiations following the release of a report claiming that Iran had increased its uranium enrichment.
Last month France, Germany, and the UK expressed their deep concern about the reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which confirmed that Iran had produced for the first time enriched uranium metal with a fissile purity of up to 20% and raised the production capacity of enriched uranium to 60%.
