Syrian President Bashar al-Assad received the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command, Talal Naji and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting encompassed discussions about developments of the situation in the Syrian and Palestinian arenas and most of the Arab and regional issues that overlap with the Syrian and Palestinian situation.

Al-Assad praised the role of the resistance forces

Al-Assad paused before the implications of the Seif al-Quds battle and its strategic repercussions on the course of the conflict with "Israel", praising the role of the resistance forces and the Palestinian people.

On the subject of the economic war facing Syria, he stressed  that the economic blockade was a result of the failure of the forces and tools of aggression: militarily and security."

He added that the siege can be overcome by the Syrian people to achieve a complete victory.

Al-Assad affirmed that the unity of the Palestinian ranks and adherence to the right of return "must remain the base and the main factor in the march of the battle of the Palestinian liberation movement," wishing the leadership of the front headed by Naji "to move forward in the march of freedom and struggle."

Naji stressed Palestinian unity

In turn, Naji spoke of how unity and resistance of the Palestinian people are the only way to avoid despair, frustration, and division.

He highlighted that rebuilding the Palestine Liberation Organization according to a political resistance program is the current task for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

It is noteworthy that the delegation of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command included Khaled Jibril, the Front's Assistant Secretary-General, and two members of the Political Bureau, Anwar Raja and Ramiz Mustafa. Talal Naji was elected Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command in June, succeeding the passing Ahmed Jibril.
