As the world’s attention shifted to Iran’s retaliatory attack on "Israel", Palestinians in Gaza experienced a calm night for the first time in more than six months, wrote the New York Times (NYT).

On Sunday, residents in the Gaza Strip said that as Iranian drones made their way to occupied Palestine on Saturday evening, the noise of Israeli drones and warplanes disappeared from the Strip's sky.

“Finally some calmness after six months of buzzing and noises!” Yousef Mema, a Gazan activist wrote on Instagram.

As reported by NYT, Another influencer, Mahmoud Shurrab, recorded himself walking in the middle of the street, the skies overhead quiet. “I can’t believe it, silence,” he said in a video posted on Instagram.

Fayez al-Samman, a 76-year-old car trader from Gaza City who is sheltering in Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza, said he spent the night listening to the news on the radio. “It was a surprise for me when I heard the missiles were targeting Israeli sites,” he said.

Osama al-Hato, 53, another man from Gaza City staying in Deir al-Balah, said he was happy that Iran had targeted Israel. “However, I did not follow the news nor expect the Iranian reaction to this extent,” he added, as per NYT.

Aymen Zidan, 57, a wholesale vegetable supplier from Deir al-Balah, said he felt “relieved that there is a country that said no to Israel.”

Palestinian Resistance praises Iranian attack

On another note, the Palestinian Resistance factions earlier today praised Iran's True Promise Operation.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement stated that Iran's response falls within the natural framework against the Israeli occupation's existence, but its necessity gets expedited due to "Israel's" crimes, violations, and assassinations it keeps committing, in loud and clear violations of all legal and humanitarian principles.

The movement denounced all stances taken against Iran and in defense of the Israeli occupation, particularly those that have positioned themselves as a protective wall to defend "Israel" and portray it as the victim in a narrative against all truths.

IRGC launches 'unprecedented' retaliatory attack

Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force announced on Saturday evening that it targeted Israeli positions in occupied Palestine with dozens of drones and missiles, as part of the retaliatory response to the malicious Israeli crime against the Iranian embassy in Syria.

Described as "unprecedented", by a Sky News correspondent, the IRGC's Aerospace Force announced that the operation dubbed "True Promise" was launched in the context of "punishing the criminal Zionist regime."

The force said that the operation came "in response to the numerous evil crimes of the Zionist regime," including the attack on the embassy. It said that its forces, supported by other units of the Iranian Armed Forces, launched the "wide-ranging" military operation.
