Abu Obeida: Harming Sinwar will cause earthquake in region
Hamas warns “Israel” against its policy of assassinating senior Palestinian figures.
Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas' military wing, issued a warning for an “unprecedented response” should “Israel” attempt to assassinate any of its top leadership, especially Hamas Gaza Strip chief Yahya Sinwar.
“Harming the leader Al-Sinwar or any of the Resistance leaders will cause an earthquake in the region,” Abu Obeida tersely stated.
Abu Obeida added, “We warn the [Israeli] enemy with an unprecedented response, and the battle of Seif al-Quds will be an ordinary event compared to what will happen."
It is worth mentioning that Israeli media have been calling for the assassination of top Hamas officials, most notably Yahya Sinwar, following the operation in Elad, an Israeli settlement built on Palestinian land, east of Tel Aviv on May 5.
This comes after Sinwar has lately called on every Palestinian to prepare their weapons and be ready for a battle, asking Palestinians in the diaspora to prepare to crawl to the Palestinian borders in order to change this bitter reality, stressing that the diaspora people have a great role in influencing the world opinion on the Palestinian cause.
Earlier today, sources told Al Mayadeen that Hamas informed Egyptian mediators that the movement is not unfazed by the occupation's threats to assassinate its leaders," warning that “the return of assassinations means the return of the explosive operations inside [Israeli] cities”.
