The Israeli website Walla reported that on December 11, US President-elect Donald Trump's Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, visited Saudi Arabia.

During his trip, he met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss the potential normalization of relations with "Israel."

The Israeli website, citing informed sources, reported that Witkoff discussed with bin Salman a range of issues, including US-Saudi relations, the war on Gaza, the potential normalization of ties with "Israel", and other matters.

It highlighted that this meeting was the first of its kind between bin Salman and a representative of the Trump administration since the US elections last November. It also noted that Trump appointed his close associate to secure a major deal with Saudi Arabia once President Joe Biden's term ends.

The newspaper explained that Trump aims for the deal to include "a historic peace agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia, along with progress in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict," something Trump has previously emphasized, stating his desire for long-term stability in the region.

Walla also mentioned that Trump's envoy visited the UAE, where he attended a cryptocurrency summit and met with UAE National Security Advisor Tahnoun bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi.

On another note, the Israeli website also reported that Trump's Middle East advisor, Massad Boulos, was in the region this week and held a meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister in Doha.

Additionally, it quoted an Israeli official stating that "Witkoff and Boulos also met in Washington with Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, a close friend of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."

The report confirmed that Adam Boehler, Trump's envoy for prisoners' affairs, plans to visit the region next week for the first time since taking on the role.
