Agreement between Iran, IAEA in the works: Amir-Abdollahian
During a phone call with the EU foreign policy chief, Iranian FM reveals that Tehran has presented its points of view to the American side in a constructive manner.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a phone call with EU foreign policy Chief Josep Borrell during which he revealed that “Tehran has presented its points of view to the American side in a constructive and forward-thinking manner."
During the phone call, the two sides reviewed the latest developments regarding the Vienna talks, most notably on the issue of lifting sanctions, bilateral relations, and mutual interests, as well as the Ukraine crisis.
Referring to conveying Iran's messages to the US through the European Union's mediating role, Iran’s top diplomat said the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to reach a good, strong, and durable agreement.
Iran has presented its views in a constructive and forward-looking approach to the American side over Iran's nuclear deal, known as JCPOA, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized.
The Iranian FM also referred to Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stating that an agreement for good and robust cooperation between Iran and the Agency is in the works.
On his account, EU Foreign Policy Chief condemned the terrorist act in the Iranian city of Shiraz and expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs.
In a different context, Borrell stated that the European Union will continue its positive efforts until the Iran nuclear deal is reached.
