Air Force drill goals achieved, modern missiles employed: Army chief
The drills are aimed at conveying the message of "friendship, peace, calm, and security" to the region.
The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, stated that Iran's air force has made the airspace safe over the nation, indicating that no enemy can breach or invade the Republic's airspace.
The General made the comments during the 11th annual army drills of "Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Velayat-1402" in Isfahan.
Yesterday, codenamed Fadaeeyan-e Harim-e Velayat 11 (Devotees of Velayat Airspace 11), the war games kicked off in Isfahan to convey the message of "friendship, peace, calm, and security" to the region, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi indicated.
Bagheri explained how "various drone operations, manned fighter aircraft operations, as well as transport, support, fuel supply, and air ambulance aircraft were able to successfully carry out their assigned missions" and successfully took place in the Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Northeast, Northwest, and other parts of the country as well.

The General stated that the Army's Air Force has secured protection for the country's airspace from the north to the Strait of Hormuz and the three islands of the Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa, adding that "with this level of readiness, no enemy has the capability to penetrate and violate the airspace of the Islamic Republic of Iran."
The power, readiness, and vigilance of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran will constantly improve, promising a brighter future ahead, he concluded.
He stated that the might, preparedness, and alertness of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Air Force will continue to improve, guaranteeing a brighter future.
A drill spokesperson detailed that the Sukhoi Su-24 and F-4 Phantom fighter bombers flew at night and blew up the imagined enemy's ground targets with Qased enhanced standoff missiles.
General Alireza Roodbari announced that the Air Force units also used a variety of laser-guided and thermal missiles to attack airborne targets at various altitudes, as well as a variety of domestic rockets and bombs.
The General also stated that manned and unmanned military aircraft may use modern electronic warfare methods to jam the hypothetical enemy's air defense systems.
More than 90 military aircraft participated in the drills including fighter planes, interceptor aircraft, bombers, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Air Force Commander Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi stated Sunday that “the main axis of the war game is (ensuring) sustainable security, promoting and strengthening regional relations, good neighborliness, and defending the country’s air borders."
This comes as the United States is increasing its presence in the Middle East as tensions grow with Iran after several provocations by American vessels, at a time when states in the region are moving away from naval security cooperation with Washington.
