The Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs addressed the signing of an agreement by the internationalist activist Aleida Guevara with Al Mayadeen Media Network, which includes her presenting a show on Al Mayadeen's platforms, affirming that it is aimed at strengthening the ties between the Ernesto Che Guevara Study Center and the network.

"Once again, the pan-Arab channel Al Mayadeen offers its platforms to Cuba and its revolution, 'Simply with Aleida Guevara' is the new audiovisual proposal announced today for early 2024," which will include current events and personal anecdotes in a first season of 54 chapters, the ministry announced on its official website.

It emphasized that "the voice of the Cuban woman, internationalist and revolutionary will reach Arab and Latin American audiences through its screen, websites and social networks."

The ministry mentioned that the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Mayadeen, Ghassan Ben Jeddou, announced the project to Al Mayadeen family during an event that was attended by Lebanese, Palestinian, Egyptian, and Tunisian politicians, as well as Che Guevara's daughter, Aleida.

Ben Jeddou was cited as saying that Ernesto Che Guevara's eldest daughter "Aleida Guevara knows that Al Mayadeen announced since its inception that it is part of the global South and Latin America is an essential pillar for its history of struggle."

The Cuban Ministry said that Aleida thanked Al Mayadeen for providing her with the opportunity to keep Che's legacy alive.

The ministry also mentioned that the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission, Jorge Leon, pointed to the friendship and brotherhood of Al Mayadeen with the Cuban people and Revolution.

It is noteworthy that the agreement signing took place at the network's headquarters in Beirut. Guevara visited Lebanon to offer her condolences to Al Mayadeen family following the martyrdom of the network's reporter Farah Omar and cameraman Rabih Me'mari, along with freelancer Hussein Akil, as a result of a direct Israeli strike that targetted them while they were performing their media duties in the town of Tayr Harfa, southern Lebanon.
