Al Mayadeen's sources report that Ismail Haniyeh and Ziyad al-Nakhalah are in phone discussions over the developments of prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash's hunger strike.
Al Mayadeen's sources reported Monday that the Chairman of the Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyeh and Palestinian Islamic Jihad Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhalah are currently holding phone discussions regarding the developments of prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash's hunger strike and the steps required to save his life.
Earlier today, Al Mayadeen's sources also revealed that senior officials from both movements gathered for a meeting on the prisoner's condition.
The sources noted that the officials stressed that an escalation would take place in the event that Hisham Abu Hawash loses his life.
PIJ political bureau member Khaled al-Batsh asserted that the resistance would treat any harm to Abu Hawash as an assassination. "This is not only the stance of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad; it is also that of all factions, especially Al-Quds Brigades and Al-Qassam Brigades."
The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission announced Monday that the health condition of prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash is deteriorating severely.
Our correspondent emphasized that Abu Hawash is in his hospital room, in an extremely dire health condition, has been lapsing in and out of consciousness for two days, and may be martyred at any moment.
