Al-Miqdad, Amir-Abdollahian: US should leave Syria or be forced out
The Syrian and Iranian foreign minsters hold a joint press conference in Tehran, emphasizing the importance of the US military leaving Syria and the end of foreign meddling.
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad stressed that the US army should withdraw from Syria before it is forced out, noting that the US forces are present between the Syrian, Jordanian, and Iraqi borders "to prevent cooperation and movement" between the three countries.
During a joint press conference in Tehran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and al-Miqdad addressed the Americans by saying: "Your crimes cannot continue, and the Syrian people will not tolerate them indefinitely," stressing that there are "hundreds and thousands of ways in which we learned how to conquer the aggressor."
Likewise, al-Miqdad confirmed that Damascus and its allies "are capable of ending the presence of ISIS," calling for the withdrawal of the international coalition, which only serves Israeli goals.
The Syrian Foreign Minister also called on "all Arab countries to stop supporting terrorism and violating human rights," noting that "the Syrian Democratic Forces are separatist and criminal, and do not want good for our country."
He stressed that all foreign forces must leave the land to ensure friendly ties between the Syrian and Turkish populations.
Al-Miqdad also stressed that the Golan is an integral part of Syria, and "it will return to its motherland," pointing out that "the criminal Israeli practices were not limited to Palestine, but also reached Syrian people."
Regarding what the Israeli occupation is going through today, al-Miqdad said that the crises are deepening, "and we are happy with the achievements made by the Palestinian people," condemning the Israeli crimes and anyone who justifies them.
As for the Syrian refugees, al-Miqdad indicated that "Western parties are pushing against a solution, and they are always telling them not to return to their country."
Likewise, the Syrian Foreign Minister stressed that there are Western countries "still protecting their leaders, and do not want rapprochement between Arab countries and Syria," noting that they have vowed to impose sanctions on Arab countries that restore their relations with Damascus.
He added that "our Arab brothers will not submit to Western blackmail," stressing that there are talks with Arab nations far from US influence. He also praised Iran's active diplomacy, noting that today all kinds of cooperation and political developments were discussed, especially the Astana talks and the Quartet.
Amir-Abdollahian: We demand the immediate exit of US forces from Syria
In turn, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that "peace in Syria can only be achieved by ending foreign interference."
Amir-Abdollahian called for "the immediate exit of US forces from Syria," as "the presence of the occupying foreign forces there will not bring security."
He also stressed "the necessity of continuing the Astana talks, and we agree on that," considering that "meetings between Iran, Syria, Turkey, and Russia are the most appropriate way to achieve security."
"The Zionist entity is the primary source behind destabilizing the region," he noted, pointing out that any step will be responded to.
