Al-Qahoum to Al Mayadeen: China playing pivotal regional role
The official says the talks with the Saudis over peace are in progress and will continue regardless of obstacles.
A member of Ansar Allah Political Bureau expressed optimism about the progress and success of the efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman "to achieve just peace and good neighborliness" between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
In an interview for Al Mayadeen, Ali Al-Qahoum said, "We sensed seriousness, the atmosphere was positive, and progress is noticeable in the course of achieving sustainable peace that meets the aspirations and sacrifices of the Yemeni people and preserves their sovereignty, unity, and independence."
Al-Qahoum stressed that "the priority is for humanitarian issues, ending the aggression, lifting the siege, and ensuring the exit of all foreign forces from Yemen, as well as reconstruction and reparations," noting that "the agreement on humanitarian files will prepare the ground for inter-Yemeni dialogue under international auspices without guardianship or external interference in a way that preserves the rights of the Yemeni nation."

"We expect that consultations in the coming days will continue, and progress will be achieved regardless of the obstacles," he said, pointing out that "pursuing peace is the reasonable and correct position."
He explained, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia must proceed with this [peace process] and come out from under the US influence," noting that "Saudi Arabia must break the Western restrictions and pressures that push for the continuation of the aggression and siege on Yemen."
"The goal is to cause Saudi Arabia to plunge into a quagmire and further implicate it in the destruction of Yemen and antagonizing its neighbors for clear colonial goals," adding that "the new old dreams of the US and the British are to occupy and colonize Yemen and keep the Yemeni arena turbulent, and as long that this is the situation, the destabilization will extend beyond the borders."
He continued, "Yemen's security and stability represent security for the region and neighboring countries, especially when all the pretexts they raised for aggression against Yemen were proven void," stressing that "events and facts have proven that the problem is an external problem, and colonial ambitions have become clear."
Al-Qahoum pointed out that "the international conspiracy is massive against Yemen, and there is a large influx and presence of US forces in Bab Al-Mandeb and off the Yemeni coast," explaining that "seizing control of the strategic Bab Al-Mandeb Strait represents danger and a threat at a regional level."

The Ansar Allah official revealed that there are attempts to "sink and drain Russia and take away its significant role in the region in light of the continuation of Western hostile and colonial tendencies," adding that "on the other hand, China emerged playing a pivotal role and making agreements that restore calm, peace, and diplomatic relations between the countries of the region."
Al-Qahoum believed that "the Saudi-Iranian agreement under Chinese auspices has positive repercussions between these countries at the internal and regional levels," pointing out that "China must retrieve its vital role in the region and end Western hegemony and the disruption of the stability and sovereignty of the countries of West Asia, the destruction of nations, and the ignition of strife and wars."

According to him, the US actions of building military bases and exerting forced control in strategic zones such as Bab Al-Mandeb, the surrounding islands, off the Yemeni coast, and the Silk Road route "are not only a danger and a threat to Yemen but to the entire region."
He stressed to Al Mayadeen that "there must be an international movement to stop Western colonial projects and end unipolarity before the West can achieve its destructive and colonial projects."
