The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement announced, at dawn on Friday, that its air defenses had responded to the occupation warplanes over Gaza with surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft missiles.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in Gaza stated, "The occupation aircraft targeted a site for the resistance in the west and center of Gaza City."

Palestinian media also detailed that "the occupation aircraft targeted the site of the 13th Battalion of the Palestinian resistance in Al-Maghazi camp in the central Gaza Strip, with more than 15 missiles."

In response to that, the Palestinian resistance launched ground anti-aircraft missiles and targeted the aircraft, and then launched a new barrage of missiles towards Israeli settlements in the suburbs of Gaza as the Iron Dome attempted to intercept.

Furthermore, and in that context, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said, "The valiant resistance in the Gaza Strip continues to carry out its duty to defend the Palestinian people and their sanctities, and it will remain the people's shield and sword."

Qassem also added "We salute the Resistance fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades who confronted the Zionist aggression with anti-air missiles and anti-ground missiles that confused the occupation army and its settlers."

المقاومة الباسلة في قطاع غزة تواصل القيام بواجبها بالدفاع عن شعبنا ومقدساتنا، وستبقى درع الشعب وسيفه.

He pointed out that "the Zionist bombing of the Gaza Strip is an extension of the occupation's crimes against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the occupied interior."

Qassem further stressed that "the Palestinian people and their resistance have the right to fight by all means in response to the aggression of the occupation and its continuing crimes" adding that "the Zionist bombing of the Gaza Strip is an extension of the occupation's crimes against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Al-Quds and the occupied interior."

The Hamas spokesperson also emphasized that "the Palestinian people and their resistance have the right to fight by all means in response to the aggression of the occupation and its continuing crimes."

On January 26, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) raided the Jenin camp in Occupied Palestine's West Bank early, leaving residents and popular resistance groups with no choice but to defend themselves and confront the occupation forces.

Hamas mourned 10 martyrs from Jenin:

-Nour Sami Mohammad Ghneim, 23

-Mohammad Sami Mohammad Ghneim, 34

-Abdullah Moussa, 18

-Wasim Abu Jaes, 19

-Al-Mutasim Abu Al-Hassan, 37

-Saeb Azriqi, 26

-Ezzeddine Yasi, 22

-Mohammad Sobh, 35

-Majeda Obeid, woman, 61

-Youssef Mohaisen, 22

It is also worth noting that as part of the raid that was launched against Palestinians, the IOF prevented ambulance crews from entering the region. That being said, there have been multiple reports of Palestinians being directly targeted with live fire, but due to the life-threatening challenges facing emergency crews.

The raid increased the number of martyrs in Jenin alone since the begining of the month to 20, and in Palestine to over 30.
