The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released footage on Saturday showing a close-range engagement with Israeli occupation forces east of Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, during what it dubbed the “Third Jabalia Camp Battle.”
The video, dated December 23, 2024, depicts intense urban combat from zero distance, capturing the moment Israeli forces evacuated casualties following the downing of a military aircraft. The footage shows scenes of Israeli soldiers removing both dead and wounded personnel from the site under heavy fire.
The release comes amid ongoing confrontations across the Gaza Strip, where Palestinian resistance factions continue to repel Israeli ground incursions. Fighters have engaged in direct clashes and ambushes targeting both soldiers and armored vehicles.

Four ISraeli escavators destroyed
Earlier in the day, al-Qassam Brigades announced it had targeted four Israeli excavators with Yassin-105 anti-tank RPGs. The attack took place in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, resulting in the machinery catching fire on impact.
According to the statement, al-Qassam fighters confirmed observing fatalities and injuries among the Israeli forces at the strike site. Israeli helicopters were seen landing in the area to evacuate the wounded, the group added.
These developments reflect the ongoing intensity of resistance operations across the Gaza Strip, as Palestinian factions sustain their armed response to Israeli military campaigns by deploying guerrilla tactics and advanced munitions in urban and semi-urban areas.
IED explosion on Street 5 in Khan Younis
In a related development, the al-Quds Brigades announced that it detonated a powerful explosive device targeting an Israeli military vehicle advancing on Street 5 in northern Khan Younis.
The group indicated that the operation was part of its ongoing effort to exhaust the occupation forces that have infiltrated the Gaza Strip.
Local Palestinian sources reported preliminary information about a serious security incident affecting the Israeli occupation forces in Khan Younis. The area is currently witnessing heavy Israeli warplane activity.
Artillery strikes on Tallat al-Montar east of Gaza City
In the eastern part of Gaza City, in the north of the Strip, al-Quds Brigades reported that its fighters took control of an Israeli reconnaissance drone while it was conducting intelligence missions over the al-Shuja’iya neighborhood.
The group also released footage showing the moment its fighters shelled gatherings of Israeli soldiers and vehicles with mortar rounds around Tallat al-Montar, east of al-Shuja’iya.
It confirmed that the strikes scored direct hits as part of a sustained artillery engagement targeting Israeli military positions.
