Two days after the commander of the 162nd Division's 401st Armored Brigade, Colonel Ehsan Daqsa was eliminated by Palestinian Resistance fighters in Jabalia, Hamas's al-Qassam Brigades took responsibility for the complex operation that eliminated him.

Daqsa who was overseeing the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Jabalia, north of Gaza City, entered an observation post in the al-Falujah area, in Jabalia, with 11 other high-ranking officers.

As the Israeli commanders reached the ambush point, al-Qassam fighters detonated a locally-produced claymore that they had previously planted in the area.

The anti-personnel charge killed Daqsa, seriously injured the commander of the 52nd Battalion, and injured two other officers.

The al-Qassam Brigades claimed responsibility for the operation on Tuesday after a group of its fighters returned from the frontlines in Jabalia.

Furthermore, the fighters said they fired a tandem rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) at an Israeli military-grade D9 bulldozer in the same area where the ambush that killed Colonel Daqsa took place.

It is worth noting that Daqsa was among two of the highest-ranking Israeli officers killed during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. His killing marks a major achievement for the Resistance in Jabalia, a city that defended against three Israeli military campaigns and saw extensive bombing and the forced displacement of thousands.

Operations conducted on Tuesday, October 22, 2024

As for operations conducted on Tuesday, the al-Qassam Brigades said its fighters fired a locally-produced tandem RPG, al-Yassin, at an Israeli D9 bulldozer and detonated an explosively formed penetrator (EFP), Shawaz, into another in the al-Falujah area.

The al-Qassam fighters also detonated an IED into an Israeli D9 bulldozer in al-Saftawi Street, in northern Gaza City.

Moreover, the al-Mujahideen Brigades fighters also executed several operations against Israeli occupation forces, shelling Israeli occupation forces to the east and west of Jabalia with mortar shells.

The al-Qassam Brigades' Military Media Unit also released footage it captured of an IED attack that targeted an Israeli Merkava tank. It suffered extensive damage before its ammunition depot exploded.
