Israeli officer killed in Al-Aqsa Brigades operation in West Bank
Israeli occupation forces announced the killing of an officer from the Duvdovan unit, an elite military force, in the shooting operation claimed by the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Ramallah on Friday, Israeli media reported.
Israeli website Ynet stated that the Israeli officer was killed in direct confrontations with the Resistance fighter conducting the operation and revealed that another officer and six soldiers were wounded as well.
Martyr Barakat Mansour carried out the operation and was targeted by an Israeli helicopter after a four-hour chase and consistent confrontations.
Initially, Mansour shot at cars on the "Habarsa" crossroads and then retreated. Israeli occupation forces then chased him and reported that he was still actively engaging against them for over four hours.
An Israeli airforce helicopter was deployed in the chase and actively fired at nearby locations.
The operation was described as an "exceptional event" and the shooter as an "expert", with media reports adding that "it is crazy to think that one individual could extend the operation for over four hours against massed forces, a drone, and helicopter, that could not locate him."
Israeli media declared, "We ['Israel'] are on the verge of losing control."
