The Secretary-General of the ALBA alliance expresses solidarity with the Lebanese people and Resistance as he lauds them for their efforts against 'Israel'.
Jorge Arreaza, Secretary-General of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), has expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people and their resistance following the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and the Israeli occupation.
In a statement, Arreaza praised Lebanon’s steadfastness, describing the resistance as a noble force that emerged in response to Israeli invasions. "This heroic resistance once again confronted the invasion of southern Lebanon this year. The Israelis had certain objectives they sought to achieve but failed, ultimately withdrawing from Lebanese territories," he noted.
He emphasized that the developments in Lebanon reflect a triumph of perseverance, steadfastness, and dignity. Arreaza expressed hope that the Lebanese people remain united, continue to strengthen their shared positions, and achieve further successes in confronting Zionism.
The ceasefire between Lebanon and "Israel" officially took effect on Wednesday at 4:00 am (local time).
On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden announced that the governments of "Israel" and Lebanon have accepted a proposal to end the war, describing the development as "good news."
He said that he spoke with the prime ministers of "Israel" and Lebanon and was "pleased to announce that their governments have accepted the United States' proposal to end the devasting conflict between Israel and Hezbollah."
