Algerian defenses down drone that infiltrated southern border
A statement released by the Algerian Defense Ministry revealed that a drone flew 2 km into Algerian airspace before being downed.

The Algerian Ministry of Defense reported on Facebook that an armed drone was intercepted and brought down after it crossed into the country's airspace from the southern border.
"As part of ongoing efforts to safeguard Algeria’s national borders, a unit from the Territorial Air Defense Forces within the Sixth Military Region successfully detected and downed an armed reconnaissance drone near the border town of Tin Zaouatine on the night of April 1, 2025," the statement revealed.
The ministry said that the drone had flown two kilometers into Algerian airspace by the time it was downed.
It described the response to the violation of its airspace as "top-tier," affirming the "vigilance and readiness" of the Algerian People's National Army.
