Al-Houthi To Reveal Important Information About German Mercenaries
After two former soldiers were arrested for planning to establish an army of mercenaries for Saudi Arabia in Yemen, Yemen's Mohammad Ali al-Houthi confirms he will soon reveal important information on the issue.
Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen announced on Twitter that he will soon reveal important information about Germany.
Commenting on German media reports about a mercenary army of former German soldiers planning to carry out special tasks for Saudi Arabia, al-Houthi added that he has already looked into the issue.
On Wednesday, the German federal prosecutors announced that they had arrested two German former soldiers who were planning to form a paramilitary force of mercenaries to fight in Yemen and other countries witnessing conflicts, reported the German DW website.
In a statement, the federal prosecutors mentioned that the arrested suspects were planning to form a paramilitary unit, comprising of 100 to 150 men made up mainly of police officers and former soldiers.
DW published a report revealing information about a mercenary army of former German soldiers that was planning to carry out special illegal missions for Saudi Arabia under the cover of humanitarian action in Yemen.
The two former soldiers wanted to gain funding primarily from Saudi Arabia and tried to communicate with Saudi representatives for some time. The Saudi authorities intended to pay an expected monthly salary of around €40,000 ($46,560) to each member of the unit.
