Al-Nakhalah: Arrests Tear Apart the Unity of Our People
The Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad Al-Nakhala, holds the authority in Ramallah fully responsible for the lives of Khader Adnan and the political detainees.
Ziad al-Nakhala, Secretary-General of Islamic Jihad, commented on the recent arrests of the Palestinian security forces. He considered that every day that passes since the arrest of Sheikh Khader Adnan and other leaders helps tear apart the unity of the Palestinian people.
In a statement, al-Nakhala held the authority in Ramallah fully responsible for the life of Khader Adnan and the political detainees, noting that physical assault on national figures such as Maher al-Akhras is a clear message of hostility to the people and the forces of resistance.
Al-Nakhala also called on the Palestinian Authority to stop its unpatriotic and illegal practices and to review its stances. He added that whoever can fight the occupation is unstoppable by any authority - no matter how patriotic the authority claims to be.
It is noteworthy that the Ramallah Magistrate Court announced yesterday the release of 7 detainees, including prisoner Maher al-Akhras, after arresting them for protesting against the assassination of martyr Nizar Banat.
The family of released prisoner Maher al-Akhras had protested with dozens of Palestinians in front of the police headquarters in Bireh to demand the release of their sons who had been arrested by the Palestinian Authority’s security forces. The protest was a sit-in condemning the assassination of the martyr Nizar Banat.
Simultaneously, the lawyer of released prisoner Khader Adnan said that his client is still in the Palestinian General Intelligence Services' premises.
