Amir-Abdollahian: Strategic cooperation agreement with China entered into force
Iranian FM Hossein Amir Abdollahian announces the beginning of the 25-year comprehensive strategic cooperation document with China.
On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced that the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between Iran and China has entered into force.
The Minister stated that during his visit to Beijing after meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, both sides agreed on beginning the cooperation document for the next 25 years, starting Friday.
He added that talks in China intend to prepare the necessary groundwork to announce the beginning of the implementation period between the two states.
Amir-Abdollahian mentioned conveying a written letter from President Raisi to his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, which discussed the period of implementation, which tackles various regional and international issues.
He also pointed out that the two sides held intensive discussions about the ongoing talks in Vienna regarding lifting the US embargo, noting that the Chinese representative plays a positive role alongside his Russian counterpart in supporting Iran's rights on the nuclear issues and lifting the embargo.
He explained that there are important agreements to discuss in order to reach a good agreement in Vienna in the shortest period of time. In this regard, he emphasized that China's role alongside Russia's is very important.
Implementing the strategic cooperation plan
In this context, the Iranian Ambassador to Beijing, Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh, confirmed that the Iranian delegation, which included senior political and economic officials from the oil and banking sectors headed by Amir-Abdollahian, held very good talks in China, considering that the start of the implementation of the 25-year strategic cooperation plan is one of the most important achievements.
The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived last Thursday in the Chinese capital, Beijing, heading a high-ranking political delegation.
On March 27 last year, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang and his then-Iranian counterpart Jawad Zarif signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement worth $400 billion during the former's visit to Tehran.
Iranian FM visits China to discuss economic ties
Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, was to hold discussions with Chinese officials regarding political relations, the implementation of previous deals, and joint economic cooperation.
The Foreign Ministry added in a statement on Thursday that Amir-Abdollahian will also hold discussions on the 25-year deal signed between the two countries in March last year.
Heading a high-ranking delegation, the Iranian Foreign Minister traveled to China on Thursday, responding to a previous invitation by his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

- Exporting Iranian gas to Pakistan and China, and the latter's participation in the production of electricity and its transmission between Iran and neighboring countries.
